I'll admit, I suck at doing my hair. I am the last person you would want to come to for hair advice. I am so backwards when it comes to tutorials and following directions, so looking at all these tutorials online seemed like a waste of my time. {Don't even get me started on the "Sock Bun" fiasco!}
There is one tutorial that sticks out in my head that I've really wanted to try, and it was a video of a girl placing an elastic hair band on her head and wrapping her hair around it and getting these gorgeous vintage curls. Seemed simple enough. I finally got some hair bands, so I decided to give it a try.
Then I went to find the video and it was private, so I couldn't view it. So I tried from memory, and remember me telling you how backwards I am? Yeah, that was a mistake. So I set out to find another tutorial. Everybody links to that video, but it doesn't work anymore. I guess I can too... {VIDEO HERE} ...but I'm warning you, it doesn't work. In the meantime I stumbled upon a couple cute blogs that showcase the style.

So, I tried it. It took just minutes to do. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the actual process -- I was tired and didn't have makeup on and nobody needs to see that hot mess! :) The blogs mentioned above have pictures of what it looks like wrapped.
I waited until my hair was almost completely dry. I then put in some Aussie spray gel and some Garnier Fructis leave-in conditioner (forgot to include it in the picture), brushed it through, and then put the band in and started wrapping my hair around it. I did wrap it kind of loose so I wouldn't have insanely tight curls.
I went to bed and when I woke up I was worried it would have fallen out, but it stayed put. Taking it out was a breeze, but WHOA...lots of curls!! UNRULY curls!! I took my paddle brush and brushed them out, and then added some TRESemme nourishing rituals Cashmere Touch Hydrating Serum and raked it through with my fingers to smooth everything out, and then I also used some more of the Aussie spray gel. I also used some of the FX Silk Drops, but it's kind of the same thing as the TRESemme. I think it turned out pretty good for the first time!
They seem to be holding up well and my hair does NOT hold curl. They are also surprisingly manageable. If they get out of place, I can twist them away from my face and they form into nice ringlets.
So bottom line: If *I* can do this...anyone can!! :)
Have you tried this hairstyle? If so, did you like it?
Good job. Your soft curls look so beautiful. I suck at doing hair too.
